Back from Art in Action - what a fabulous show - thanks so much to all the wonderful organizers who do it all on a voluntary basis.

You may know by now that Sarah Hornik was sent home by our very protective immigration people - just doing their job I know.
Poor Sarah was extremely traumatised and left with a huge financial hole as a result so to try to help redress this miscarriage various things are taking place. One is a petition - not quite sure yet how to get involved with that. A in A Glass section organizer Stephen Predergast is writing about her for Design Crafts Magazine and Angie Boyer has offered space in it for free.

Obviously at the open day there will be no Sarah Hornik demonstration. I will be holding a small Sarah benefit raffle to try to give her a bit of practical help and selling some of her demo beads. Ist prize is the little coral reef 'Sea Change' paperweight -

This is in addition to a charity raffle in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness and we will do two draws on Sunday.
Sarah's blog about the whole affair is on http://blog.glassbysarah.com/

My daughter suffered a similar trauma perpetrated by authorities through quite different circumstances and has never really recovered from it.

Sarah has put up all her work that she was bringing with her on etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/sarahhornik and has some fabulous tutorials on there too so it would also help her to purchase something - I think she has a 25% discount at the mo.

Sold - Hooray!!!

Full fathom five thy father lies;
Of his bones are coral made;
Those are pearls that were his eyes:
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea change
Into something rich and strange.
